Safeguarding statement

At Hipswell Church of England Primary School the health, safety and wellbeing of every child is our top priority. All staff, governors and volunteers share this commitment to safeguarding our pupils. All our staff are trained in Child Protection and PREVENT, and children are regularly reminded who they can talk to if they have any concerns. Staff are trained to look out for signs of physical/emotional harm or neglect and are required to report these to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

We follow the North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Partnership procedures. We will endeavour to discuss all concerns with parents about their children however, there may be exceptional circumstances when we will discuss concerns with Social Care and/or the Police without parental knowledge (in accordance with Child Protection procedures).  Our child protection policy is available below.
